Eidyn is delighted to announce its new MOOC entitled “Philosophy and the Sciences”. It will cover a range of topics in the Philosophy of the Physical Sciences and in the Philosophy of the Cognitive Sciences in collaboration with scientists in the relevant units. We have a team of 11 people, from Psychology, Linguistics, Astronomy, Robotics and Informatics, as well as some of our very own Philosophers.
The research areas covered by "Philosophy and the Sciences" MOOC include:
- Philosophy of cosmology module that considers questions about the origin and evolution of our universe, the nature of dark energy and dark matter and the role of anthropic reasoning in the explanation of our universe
- Philosophy of psychology module that covers the evolution of the human mind and the nature of consciousness
- Philosophy of neurosciences module that explores the nature of human cognition and the relation between mind, machines, and the environment
