Lecturer in Philosophy and Associate Fellow at the Northern Institute of Philosophy at the University of Aberdeen
Aidan McGlynn is Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh and an Associate Fellow at the Northern Institute of Philosophy at the University of Aberdeen. He works mostly on issues in epistemology, philosophy of language and philosophy of mind, and he has a longstanding interest in Wittgenstein. He recently finished a series of papers and a book critically engaging with the knowledge first approach to epistemology and related areas of mind and language. His current research concerns first-person thought, particularly the phenomenon of immunity to error through misidentification, self-knowledge, and related issues concerning how we attribute mental states to ourselves and to others.
