Senior Lecturer in Philosophy
Mark Sprevak is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy. His primary research interests are in philosophy of mind and philosophy of science, with particular focus on the cognitive sciences. His research focuses on (1) the distributed turn in cognitive science and (2) philosophical issues arising from using computation to explain the mind. The first project has resulted so far in articles in top-ranking journals, refereed book chapters, a major AHRC large research grant A History of Distributed Cognition (2014–17), while the second has produced a monograph book, edited collections, articles in top-ranking journals and refereed book chapters. His monograph The Computational Mind (Routledge) is forthcoming alongside the edited volume The Turing Guide (OUP).
