Does knowledge reside within our heads? All of it?

Prof Mike Wheeler will explore certain consequences of a very interesting but different view on these issues.

The internet has revolutionised how - and how much - each of us can know. Our phones put the knowledge of the world at our fingertips - and soon, maybe, right into our heads.

October 7th at Crystalmount (Dalkeith) Dr Mark Sprevak introduces aspects of Alan Turing’s work and life, including the famous Turing Test!

On the 29th of May, our own Dr Michela Massimi will be speaking at the HowTheLightGetsIn2015 Festival, the world's largest philosophy and music festival.

Together with Julian Barbour (physicist and author of The End of Time) and Professor Huw Price, Dr Michela Massimi will discuss space and time and how we think about them. Not an easy task at all!

3.30 hours of event, more than 100 people taking our Turing Test, challenging their views, reading the research behind it and chatting with Dr Mark Sprevak and Dr Francesca Rossi about what intelligence is and, more importantly, how to find out when you're chatting with a computer and not with a human.
